Locally based charity Maternity Worldwide has changed the lives of families around the world since launching ten years ago.
This year, the vital charity aimed at making pregnancy and childbirth safer for women are celebrating their anniversary by showcasing their work with a new website designed by SCIP.
The site, designed by Mark James, is a bright, clear design outlining the charity’s work and those they have helped. A key element for all charities, is a clear ‘call to action’ to encourage donations and the MW site has a striking purple button with ‘Donate Now’ on all pages, highlighted by quotes. These buttons make it easy and straightforward for people to give money with the minimum of effort, a key factor to translate interest into commitment.
” I worked closely with the team at MW, concentrating on what they want the site to achieve. Donations are key to most charities and we used the site to quietly but persistently invite donors to give money. By using buttons which blend into the overall colour scheme of the site, we have managed to create a site which is informative, welcoming but functional in delivering the message that Maternity Worldwide needs donations to continue the vital work they do overseas.”
“The case for donations is also made through the use of case studies and photos of the mothers the charity has helped. This helps demonstrate how donations really go to help save women’s lives. “
