ICT for development workers: New training course
SCIP has been commissioned by NAVCA to develop and run a one day training session for community development workers as part of the Skild Autumn Programme.
It won’t make you a computer expert, but it will help you answers the questions that groups ask about computers, including:
• reasons groups need computers
• what to buy and not buy, and what to include in the total cost
• systems and policies for computers
• access issues
• where to get support and advice
• other ways computers can get people involved
The session is being developed by mark Walker, in conjunction with other regional ICT champions from around the country.
It will be delivered by SCIP's Peter Mason, who has worked with development workers from all parts of the local community for more than ten years.
DATE: 3 October, Guildford
COST: £45 for voluntary and community organisations / £149 for statutory and private organisations
This includes VAT and lunch
