Standard conditions for SCIP Training
Cancellation charges
You are responsible for ensuring that you attend any course(s) you have
booked. If you have to cancel, you need to give a minimum of two
working days notice before the course date to mark@scip.org.uk or call
01273 234049, so that a place can be offered to a reserve.
If you do not give notice there will be a charge for the place of £25.
If you are ill you will need to send us a copy of a medical certificate for the charge to be waived. People from those organisations who have not paid their charge(s) will be unable to book on to future programmes until the fine has been paid.
If you arrive late you will not be turned away and will not be charged a fine.
This policy was introduced because if we are unable to demonstrate good
attendance to our funders, it will be more difficult to get future
funding for these courses, and less likely that we will be able to
provide courses free of charge.
Voluntary donations
If your organisation has a training budget (that never gets spent), please consider contributing a proportion of any amount up to the full cost of £200 per day to SCIP. This funding will help to subsidise course costs and contribute to travel and childcare costs of volunteers and community activists.Courses and access
All of the training events start promptly at the advertised time. Tea and coffee is available 15 minutes before the advertised start time. Whilst tea and coffee will be provided at the we are unfortunately unable to provide food at any of our courses, unless stated, due to the strain on our budget, but please feel free to bring your own.All of the venues are accessible to people with disabilities, and have accessible toilets.
Please note that public transport is recommended where possible – there is no parking available at Community Base
Claiming expenses
If you volunteer for a group that provides services to people in Brighton and Hove, we may be able to cover the costs of your childcare, carers and/or travel expenses on public transport, depending on individual circumstances. This depends on the funding we have so pease ask for further details and a claim form. Receipts must be provided.
Please note that the responsibility
for the quality of childcare or other care commissioned lies with the
parent or carer. SCIP accepts no liability for participants’ childcare,
carer or travel arrangements.
