Why I love the SCIP list
There are about 1,000 people currently subscribed to our email discussion forum, but who are they and what do they get out of it? Every month we ask one of its members why they love the SCIP list… This month we hear from Guy Walsh, Work and Learning Advisor at Care Co-ops.
What's the best thing about being on the SCIP list?
Guy Walsh, Care Co-ops
The volume of relevant information provided on a daily basis and the ability to communicate the latest news immediately with our stakeholders.
One thing you've learned by being on the SCIP list.
I can’t pin point one thing in particular, but I have gained many, many useful contacts. I would urge anyone interested to join the network.
What do you think would improve the SCIP list?
It may be useful for some people if the SCIP list could accommodate an online community forum for those who would like to actively participate in discussing political or other issues.
Guy has been a member of the SCIP list since February 2009.

Did you know that the SCIP discussion list is one of the oldest forums of its type in the world? We set it up in 1996 and since then thousands of people have used it for sharing events, opportunities and all sorts of information of community interest.
It’s an email-based network that is free to join. Members can post news, requests for help and share ideas with people from the not for profit sector in Sussex and beyond.
