Green Computing: SCIP signs up with Very PC

SCIP is now a reseller for the environmentally conscious award-winning PC manufacturer, Very PC. Current estimates are that ICT waste contributes at least 39% of the 1 million tonnes of electronic waste generated in the UK each year. This new deal means SCIP can help local organisations switch to a more environmentally friendly IT set-up.

Very PC’s BroadLeaf series of PCs are energy efficient with a low operational and embedded carbon footprint, which is ethically offset for 5 years of use. They were categorised as ‘Class Leader’ by DEFRA (Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs). Each PC can save you hundreds of pounds in energy costs over its lifetime. They are lightweight, optimised for business use and can be mounted underneath the desk or even on the back of a TFT monitor.

SCIP is now exploring the option for a bursary scheme that provides a loan to purchase green PCs.
