A special display of the uncatalogued Moon
collection was arranged by Mark Neathy for the storytelling project.
John Roles, principlal Keeper of Brighton Museum, has
described William Moon as ,"one of Brighton's most important 19 century
residents." Roles was among the first to respond to the omission of William Moon from
the generally excellent Brighton Encyclopedia published in 1990.
His continuing admiration for Brighton's own embossewd
reading alphabet resulted in a well illustrated Moon entry in phase 2 of Brighton Museum's
award winning interactive mutimedia exhibition called 'My Brighton'. The 'My Brighton'
room includes two beautiful Moon animal blocks offered as a tactile challenge to visitors'
imagination.

"My Brighton" is now available to purchase on
CD for PC users but not in Mac format.
Surely an echo there of the Braille /Moon technological
rivalry of 100 years ago.
