| DOES MOON HAVE A
FUTURE? On
October 3rd over 100 delegates attended a
conference in Birmingham organized by the
National Library For The Blind. At the close of
the day delegates answered with a a resonding YES
to the question," Does Moon Have a
Future?".
Many of the institutions
represented at the conference currently and
support new developments summed up as The Moon
Mission and embodied in the Moonbase project
launched in February 1997.
Moonbase is a collaborative
project developed by the Royal National Institute
for the Blind and The University of Birmingham
The Moonbase Resource
Centre located at RNIB Rushton Hall School near
Kettering, offers a wide range of new books
supporting the teaching of Moon including The
Moon Cats series for young children.
Class 5K of the Downs
Junior School Brighton have decided to learn more
about Moon during their summer term. They are
specially interested in Moonbase and Moon
editions of the famous character Postman Pat
created by former Brighton librarian John
Cunliffe.
