Benefits to Community Groups
Our approach
SCIP has worked with local community and voluntary organisations since 1997, helping hundreds of staff and volunteers to take control of computers and the Internet. we understand the needs of the sector and the organisations and individuals who work in it.
We:
- Provide a high quality IT support service at affordable rates
- Only work with not-for-profit organisations
- Are independent of any hardware or software suppliers
- Aim to provide the most appropriate solutions for our clients
Our technical support service is based on the principle that we try to empower organisations to take control over their computers themselves. Our friendly supportive staff always try to make sure that you feel in control.
We prefer to keep the client 'in the loop' when we are carrying out repairs so they understand what went wrong and how to prevent it happening again - but don't worry, we don't talk techno-babble.
Our work often links with our training programme. We offer courses and workshops for organisations on a range of subjects or can offer in-house training for staff with specific needs.
Get connected
Computers and the Internet are now seen as an essential tool for helping not-for-profit groups achieve their aims for themselves and their clients. Working with SCIP can help maximise those benefits and ensure that organisations can both manage themselves better and take an active part in the information society. The first step is access to working and reliable equipment and this is where SCIP's technical support service can help.
Peace of mind
Working with SCIP, you know that there is someone with your organisation's best interests at heart. We aim to help organisations become as self-reliant as possible, documenting everything we do and giving you guides to the basics, to put you in control of your technology.
Confidence
When your computer breaks, it's not your fault! You get the confidence of having someone friendly to call when you need help. And because we make sure your computers and network are secure and your data is backed up, when things do go wrong you won't lose all your work.
Planning and control
As we get to know your organisation we are better placed to make recommendations, help to develop a strategy, and help you find other experts when you need them. We also fully understand the voluntary sector's financial constraints and can provide a solid justification for those costs that are unavoidable - especially useful when there are funders or management committees to convince!
