About the course
This course will help you:
- Set up a free website for your organisation using Wordpress.com
- Add stories and information to the site
- Keep the site running
Content will include:
- Setting up a site in wordpress.com
- Adding stories to your site
- Identifying who your website is for and what they want from you
- Roles and responsibilities
- Keeping your site up to date
- Links with your community newsletter
- Links with community events
Who is it for?
The course is suitable for anyone from a local not for profit organisation who wants a free website which can they can update for themselves.
- Staff and volunteers from local not for profit organisations
- People involved in running local community newsletters and/or community events
You are not required to be a computer expert to get the most from this course but you must be able to collect your email online to be able to set up your site. It is also helpful to have access to the internet between the sessions.
Equipment
We will provide computers for the session, but please bring any current publicity materials you think may be relevant, such as recent leaflets, annual reports, etc.
