The SCIP Award: Technology for Good
SCIP is a co-founder of the all new Digital Media Awards: South a high profile showcase for the creative talents of people building and using digital media tools for business and the wider good of the community.
We helped run the event, Mark Walker was compere for the Awards evening and SCIP judged and awarded its Technology for Good Award.

Our judges selected a shortlist from 23 entries drawn from across the South East corner of England. The winner was announced at a glittering Awards Ceremony held in Hove on 27 November 2008. The shortlist was:
- TALKING BUS STOPS: Brighton & Hove City Council worked with RNIB to design and implement a system that enables blind and partially sighted people to hear bus timetable information. More info...
- WII CAN DO IT: Age Concern Brighton & Hove is using the latest games technology to help older people keep active. More info...
- CARFREE WALKS: A website that helps people find challenging and enjoyable walks without the need for a car. More info...
